Great news for fans of dark and uncompromising music: Neurosis have announced their return to the Roadburn Festival for the year 2027. It will be the first European appearance of the post-metal pioneers since their multi-year hiatus.
The connection between Neurosis and the Dutch festival is deeply rooted. After their debut in 2007, curating the "Beyond The Pale" format in 2009, and their legendary shows for the band's 30th anniversary in 2016, the band is now returning to Tilburg once again. Two standalone sets are planned. Exact details are expected to follow in the coming months.
After announcing their hiatus, the band surprised fans in early 2026 with their comeback album An Undying Love For A Burning World. Alongside a new internal structure, Aaron Turner (Isis, SUMAC) is now a permanent member of the band. Following their first performance in nearly seven years at the Fire In The Mountains festival, the Roadburn confirmation for 2027 marks the next major milestone for the Americans.
Guitarist and vocalist Steve Von Till emphasizes the special significance of the festival for the band:
"There are only a few places in the world that feel as much like home for our music as Roadburn; where we are in the company of like-minded individuals who share our endless obsession with emotional, genre-defying, independent heavy music."
