On September 11 and 12, 2026, folk, medieval, and rock will once again unite along the Rhine-Herne Canal when the Folkfield Festival takes place for the fourth time at the Gelsenkirchen Amphitheater. What began in 2022 has long since developed into a fixed meeting point for fans of folk rock, medieval sounds, and energetic shows – and in 2026 it will be bigger, louder, and more intense than ever.
Schandmaul invite themselves as proud hosts to the Gelsenkirchen Amphitheater to devote themselves to folk and medieval rock with a atmospheric backdrop and friendly bands. With the Folkfield Festival, Schandmaul has quickly established a new scene event for the folk and medieval community.
You can look forward to a lineup that leaves nothing to be desired: As headliners and hosts, Schandmaul take center stage on both evenings. With poetic lyrics, gripping energy, and charismatic stage presence, they create unforgettable moments and invite their audience to dance, dream, and celebrate. They have also invited top-class guests: Fiddler’s Green, who have been delivering gripping speed folk shows full of Celtic melodies and punk attitude for decades, as well as Subway To Sally, whose unmistakable mix of folk, metal, and dark romance creates spectacular festival moments.
Wind Rose let their epic sagas make the earth tremble. Rauhbein and Doppelbock provide hearty rock with heart and attitude, while Irdorath weaves mystical sounds and Deus Vult add a good portion of punch to the festival. More acts will follow.
