On July 24, 2026, Massendefekt released “Unbedingt Verpassen,” the fourth pre-single from their upcoming album “Massendefekt.” The album will be released on September 11, 2026, through their own label MD Records (Warner).
They are supported by Dritte Wahl. In line with the collaboration, two joint concerts were recently announced, including their home game in Rostock's IGA Park on September 12. All dates can be found consolidated further down!

25 years of MASSENDEFEKT. Ten albums. And a moment when a band can decide: Reflection or new beginnings.
MASSENDEFEKT clearly chooses the latter. Their new album is not coincidentally named after themselves – “MASSENDEFEKT” is not a best-of, not a nostalgic look back, but a statement. An expression of what this band has stood for for a quarter of a century: attitude, friendship, and the desire to stand together on stage.
The artwork also visually captures this idea: Four faces merge into one – a strong image of solidarity, development, and shared history. A visual framework for 25 years of the band.
Musically, the album presents itself as direct and unfiltered as it has not been in a long time. With a clear message to simply do what they feel like, the band entered the studio. Produced and recorded mostly on their own, it resulted in a work that is close to the band and the moment. The creative process was as free and intense as rarely before, resulting in a high yield of songs. Michael Czernicki handled the mix and master, giving the album the necessary punch: fresh, direct, and to the point.

For the anniversary, a limited double vinyl will also be released: In addition to the album, it contains a second work with twelve reinterpretations of MASSENDEFEKT songs – realized by friendly bands and long-time companions. Each act chooses one of the band's songs and gives it their own signature. Without guidelines and without limits, new perspectives on the existing material emerge, allowing familiar songs to appear in a completely new light. The participating artists will be announced gradually.

MASSENDEFEKT - 25 LIVE TOUR
2026 is entirely dedicated to a special anniversary for Massendefekt: The band is celebrating its 25th anniversary – and is hitting the road with a special anniversary tour. Under the title “25 LIVE,” the band will play eleven selected shows across Germany starting in October.
Massendefekt will not only look back on a quarter-century of band history, but will also present themselves as energetic as rarely before. The “25 LIVE” tour brings together songs from all phases and showcases exactly what Massendefekt has been known for live for years: clear edges, direct contact with the audience, and evenings that are musically and atmospherically on the point. An exclusive tour support will be announced later.
A special highlight will be the closing concert on December 12, 2026, at Düsseldorf's Stahlwerk. There, not only will the anniversary tour “25 LIVE” come to an end – the band will also celebrate the 15th anniversary of their successful double album “Tangodiesel” that evening. Two milestones in one evening, reflecting the band's history from the early years to today and creating an extraordinary finale for long-time and new fans alike.
