Waterparks released their sixth studio album "JINX" on July 24, 2026, which is now available. The album features guest musicians Mark Hoppus from blink-182, Eric Nally from Foxy Shazam, and Dillon Francis, and can be streamed in full and purchased as a physical album, with signed and colored vinyl special editions available.
In "JINX", Waterparks turn both inward and outward, illuminating existential fears, the confusing consequences of visibility, and all-consuming relationships to reveal a world where nothing quite makes sense, yet the desperation to seek meaning, connection, or even escape never wanes. Even in its most aggressive or surreal moments, "JINX" remains tightly composed; the chaos feels less random and more carefully staged.
The album begins with cinematic flair, contrasting with emotional intimacy: "TELL ME WHY" is a story of death, purgatory, confrontation, and return. This conscious juxtaposition runs throughout the entire album "JINX", with each song emphasizing its own significance rather than fitting into a uniform sound palette. "PROWLER" is a study of isolation and reckoning. "RED GUITAR" swings in the opposite direction with confident hooks. "IF LYRICS WERE CONFIDENTIAL" weaves biting inner commentary into a song that thrives on tension. Even in its most aggressive or surreal moments, JINX remains tightly composed, with the chaos feeling less random and more intentionally staged.
This versatility has always characterized Waterparks. The band navigates the tension between charm and sharpness, sincerity and irreverence, creating songs that can disarm as quickly as they strike. It’s a balance that runs through all six of their albums to date. Each era raises the bar higher. The horizon expands, the ideas sharpen, and the band continues to move forward – faster than the expectations around them can solidify.
"This album came from so many different versions of me," Knight notes with a knowing laugh. "When I look back, there are about ten versions of me on it. It’s like, ‘Damn, we had the whole crew here.’"
"My creative competitor is myself," Knight continues. "And I’m hard to beat."
