BETWEEN BODIES wear their DIY punk heart on their sleeve: On June 12, 2026, their new music video for "Milli Writes On Hotel Walls" was released – the clip captures the palpable togetherness of past shows with captivating live footage and simultaneously delivers a clear political statement against nationalism. The driving emo-punk song comes from their current album "Hands To Hold Each Other," which was released on May 29 via Zeitstrafe.
The link to MILLI WRITES ON HOTEL WALLS is as follows:
The song refers to the struggle for the preservation of the Autonomous Center in Cologne. For Between Bodies, the song symbolically represents their own politicization as young punks in a scene that, despite all its flaws, strives for justice, for which they are very grateful.
"In a time when the national 'we' is increasingly invoked by more and more people as a unifying narrative, we wanted to write a song that clearly states that nationalism is not a solution to the problems of 99 percent of the people," says the band. "Instead, it divides us and prevents us from being strong together."
In recent years, the number of billionaires has massively increased, corporations are making huge profits from global crises that affect us all, and the richest two families own more than the lower half of the population combined. The unambiguous message in the song is therefore: "Still not loving nation states. Expropriate this fucked up place."
The music video for "Milli Writes On Hotel Walls" is now online. "Hands To Hold Each Other" was recorded in 2025 with the renowned producer Lewis Johns (Svalbard, Muncie Girls, Rolo Tomassi, Funeral For A Friend, among others). The album is available everywhere.
On June 27, the band will play their album release show at Gebäude 9 in Cologne.
