SMOKE BLOW are certainly among the more influential local punk/hardcore bands and have released small blueprints of contemporary punk/rock music throughout their 7-album career.
The Kiel band, which grew to a sextet over their first four albums (now often performing live with 3 guitarists), has crossed over in the best sense from the punkadelic spiral nebula through hardcore, metal, rock’n’roll, and punk, creating sparkling album diamonds that have lost none of their energetic appeal to this day.
In 2011, the Kielers decided not to write any more new studio albums, to significantly reduce their activity after a final "real" tour in 2012, and to completely escape the album-promo-tour-album-promo-tour rhythm. Since then, the band has only played sporadic concerts and takes the stage very few times a year.
2027 marks the 30th anniversary of SMOKE BLOW, and the band will celebrate it ceremoniously in their living room, the Hamburger Fabrik. Not surprisingly, as many of their shows at the same venue can confidently be labeled as "legendary."
