Rantanplan cancel China tour

What does the cancellation of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Beijing by Chancellor Merkel and Vice Chancellor Steinmeier bring to the people in Tibet? About as much as the decision by Rantanplan to cancel their tour through the provinces of Xinjiang, Qinghai, and Sichuan due to China's harsh actions in the Central Asian highlands. They actually wanted to bring Ska-Punk a little closer to the youth there. For now, that won't happen, but the Chinese government will probably not be swayed by this. Perhaps the four musicians from Hamburg will make a difference when reports of violent repression disappear from foreign media and only daily routine remains on site. Until then, one can improve the world here at home as support for the Killerpilze.
