US singer and bassist Danielle Nicole will release her new album "Fireflies" on August 28 through Forty Below Records / Bertus. This is her fourth album and the follow-up to "The Love You Bleed" (2024).
The album was created during an emotionally moving phase after the death of her brother Kris – her lifelong friend, bandmate, and musical partner in the award-winning band Trampled Under Foot. Initially, she struggled to finish the songs due to her grief. Through collaboration with guitarist Brandon Miller and keyboardist Jim Pugh, she found new inspiration. They used Kris' drums for the recordings, which adds another emotional layer to the album.
Danielle Nicole is known for her powerful voice, masterful bass playing, and emotionally fearless songwriting. She has been Grammy-nominated and has won multiple Blues Music Awards. 10 Blues Music Awards, a Grammy nomination, and international recognition as a songwriter and performer are part of her nearly 25-year career.
