Regarding the new album, Tom May, singer and guitarist of The Menzingers, said: "While we were recording this album, so much changed in our lives and in the world, and somehow that drew us even deeper into the band and into our friendship. After twenty years, we feel as connected to what we do as we ever have. I've always heard: 'Bigger kids, bigger problems,' and there's some truth to that, but there are also bigger answers and deeper meanings. There's a kind of hard-won hope that you can only find on the other side of real change. In all the uncertainty of life and the world, it's easy to slip straight into cynicism. Easy to say: Screw it. With Everything I Ever Saw, we wanted to face all of that head-on. The whole damn thing."
Recorded with longtime partner and GRAMMY-winning producer Will Yip (Turnstile, Mannequin Pussy) at his brand new Memory Music Studios in Philadelphia, PA, "Everything I Ever Saw" showcases The Menzingers at their most characteristic. It is an album born out of life-changing upheavals, where marriage, divorce, loss, and personal growth meet a new creative urgency. After twenty years of career, the band returns to the raw, communal spirit that makes them indispensable, infusing their hard-earned wisdom into songs that feel both deeply personal and universally appealing. It is the testament of a band that not only reflects on who they once were but actively becomes what they are today.
The Menzingers are traveling to Europe for a series of performances and will play selected festivals between May and June.
