DEINE NACHBARN – debut album "Brandstiftung" was released on February 13, 2026
A thought experiment about simply setting everything on fire – and still moving on.
"Why do we as a band have to write a statement about our own album? That's just stupid. Others should do that. They should just listen to the record."
This reaction exemplifies the attitude of DEINE NACHBARN: direct, uncomfortable, honest. Their debut album Brandstiftung, which was released on February 13, 2026, sounds just like that.
The band does not aim to please – and they don't have to. In their songs, they criticize the excesses of capitalism, draw clear lines against fascism and sexism, and show: There is always a way out. Sometimes it means "setting everything on fire" – and sometimes "sitting on the beach with a bottle of wine and starting anew".
Musically, pogo and swaying in ¾ time alternate without ever falling into clichés. "We make feel-good music about bad moods," DEINE NACHBARN themselves say – and hit the core of their art: angry, vulnerable, human.
Brandstiftung is not a self-help book or therapy. But it often understands its listeners better than those who pretend to have their lives under control. It is a slap in the face for all those who live excessively at the expense of others – and at the same time a hug for those who do not feel "normal." This album says: You are not alone.
DEINE NACHBARN manage to make sadness danceable and tell pain in a way that it can even be fun for a moment. Their songs are radically honest: You swallow, laugh, think. Anger, helplessness, fear, and love are poured into words and melodies that resonate. After listening, you want to change your life, start a revolution – or at least call a loved one again.
The album was produced by Christian Schilgen, known for his work with Egotronic and Torsun & The Stereotronics. His signature noticeably shapes the sound of Brandstiftung.
