On February 3, 2026, the trio also released the defiant lead single "Standing In The Downpour," an unwavering statement affirming that even when the clouds burst, they will happily dance in the rain. The band explains: "‘Standing In The Downpour’ is a story full of memories, written in a conversational style, as if talking to old friends. From childhood in a British seaside town to wild nights and reckless decisions to coming of age."
Grief. Growth. Every step along the way has been hard-earned. Twelve years after they first cranked up their amplifiers as schoolchildren and shook their music room on the Isle of Wight, Grade 2 has much to tell. From dreams that seemed distant during COVID to a comeback with their self-titled third album from 2023, the band appeared to have claimed their place at the top of the world. But storming festivals like Rock am Ring and performing with heroes like Rancid and Slipknot was only half the story. Behind the scenes, the trio struggled with the quiet dissonances of island life with their parents, sought time for romantic relationships, and planned their way into a world that was increasingly falling apart. The turbulent fourth album "Talk About It" is a chronicle of all the difficulties and triumphs. "The title track was originally called Communication and is about how men don’t talk about the things that really matter to them," Sid explains.
"But then it became 'Talk About It,' which sums up the entire album and addresses all the emotions one feels as a band member, from love to loss to personal turbulence and ambitions. It’s a coming-of-age story about Grade 2 growing up…" Grade 2 is a compelling first step into the next chapter of one of the brightest lights in modern punk, emerging from the darkness. "That’s everything we’ve been through," the lead singer smiles bittersweetly, "but we’re here!"
