Today, the punk veterans The Casualties end their eight-year hiatus with their brand new single "People Over Power," the band's first release through Hellcat Records. The track kicks off the year with a deadly right hook against the system and, with its thunderous barking, is a call to action that urges us all to fight against injustice.
"We are being beaten down by the world, by the government, by the bad news," says singer David Rodriguez about the new song. "We want systemic change, a total transformation, the downfall of the state. 'People over Power': It's as simple as it sounds."

"It's thoroughly a protest song," adds drummer Marc "Meggers" Eggers. "We want the vibe to be: You listen, get angry, gather your crew, and hit the streets."
The Casualties are the voice of the disenfranchised, disillusioned, and dispossessed of this planet. The band was originally formed in 1990, but these street fighters are still angry, still political, and keep the heart and spirit of punk alive. Founded with the mission to revive the sound of punk pioneers like The Exploited and The Sex Pistols, they weave sharp accusations against the authorities into raging anthems of resistance. So far, they have released eleven studio albums, three EPs, and three live albums.

In March, The Casualties will come to the UK to perform at the Scarborough Punk Festival. In June, they will return to Europe for a series of festival and headliner shows.
