The celebrated rock innovators Thrice continue their journey to their upcoming album "Horizons/West" with the release of their new single "Albatross," which is now available worldwide via Epitaph Records. Accompanied by a cinematic visualizer directed by Sean Stout (Deafheaven, Touché Amoré, Scowl), the track captures the back and forth of a relationship that is as magnetic as it is destructive.

Frontman Dustin Kensrue shares: "We can destroy exactly what the world has given us as a sign of hope and happiness, and in this way, I have found that we often create our own harbingers of misfortune. Fortunately, I have discovered that it is not always too late to reverse these curses."
After the burning urgency of the lead single "Gnash," "Albatross" takes a more contemplative and poetic turn, overlaying the characteristic dynamic post-rock textures of Thrice with a deeply symbolic narrative. Lines like "our stars are crossed" and "I think you might be my albatross" speak of doomed yet inescapable bonds, while flashes of light point to the beauty within inevitable collapse.
Sean Stout's lyric video visually reflects the tension and duality of the song, juxtaposing waves of pain and joy, golden grain, and swirling ash in a hypnotic dance of creation and destruction.
"Horizons/West," set to be released this fall, continues the themes and sonic ambitions of "Horizons/East" from 2021, while standing entirely on its own.
