The rising punk band Winona Fighter is excited to announce the release of a deluxe edition of their critically acclaimed debut album My Apologies To The Chef. The expanded album, which will be released digitally and in a limited vinyl edition on September 5, is now available for pre-order and includes acoustic versions of all songs from the original version as well as cover versions of Beastie Boys' “Sabotage” and Violent Femmes' “Blister In The Sun”.
Additionally, the band has released their brand new single “(Don't Get) CLOSE,” which is now available on all streaming platforms via Rise Records. The single also comes with a visualizer that can be viewed on the label's YouTube channel.

About the new single “(Don't Get) CLOSE,” Coco Kinnon says:
“I think it's really cool that we found the opportunity to release “(Don't Get) CLOSE.” I've always felt drawn to this song, but it never quite found its place on our debut album. To be honest, we set our minds to recording completely new songs (even for us), so I really didn't think it would ever see the light of day. When we decided to make a deluxe version of 'My Apologies To The Chef,' it was clear that this song should finally get its chance. I want to dedicate it not only to everyone trying to navigate romantic or personal relationships after experiencing abuse but also to all the partners, friends, and family members out there who live with them day by day.”
About the deluxe version of the album, she says:
“If you're thinking right now: 'Is this a band full of crazies?'... then you're not far off. Why are we releasing a 31-track, half-electric, half-acoustic deluxe version of our debut album that we released earlier this year? Well, I don't know, but we had a hell of a lot of fun doing it.”
“We recorded it after the first leg of our 'YES CHEF TOUR' (where we played every single song from the album every night), so it was cool to incorporate some of the things we played live into the acoustic versions. There are some elements on the deluxe version that I think listeners will be pleasantly surprised by. Some songs we even recorded just the three of us with a single microphone. It's raw, fun, and totally rock 'n' roll garage band vibes. Enjoy listening!”
Winona Fighter recently completed their very first headline tour in the UK, which ended with a performance at the Slam Dunk Music Festival. After their return, they launched the second leg of their Yes, Chef Tour. The tour will continue on July 8 and includes sold-out shows in New York City and Chicago, as well as additional performances in Boston, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, and other cities.
