The Southern rockers Robert Jon & The Wreck have just released "Dark Angel," the next track from their new album, which is scheduled for release on 22.08.25.

With "Dark Angel," Robert Jon & The Wreck provide another taste of their new studio album Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes, which will be released on August 22 via Joe Bonamassa's Journeyman Records.
The track was produced by Dave Cobb, the man behind albums by Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, and Rival Sons, and is now available on all major streaming platforms.
"Dark Angel" tells the story of a mysterious woman in Savannah, Georgia – somewhere between memory, illusion, and inspiration. With narrative sensitivity, melancholic guitars, and a touch of country-soul attitude, the song captures a dark, almost mystical facet of the American South – where love and desire can no longer be clearly separated.
"‘Dark Angel‘ was created during one of our sessions at the legendary RCA Studio A in Nashville," recalls guitarist Henry James. "We were lucky to collaborate with the great songwriter Leslie Satcher – her lyrics are based on her personal experience as a touring musician. The story of an encounter with a mysterious woman in a bar in Savannah left plenty of room for poetic embellishment. Her gift for language and storytelling was immediately palpable – the lines just flowed out of her. And the song fit perfectly with Dave Cobb's production: driving riffs, classic Southern rock vibe. That we recorded the song right in the city where it takes place – Savannah – felt almost like fate."
Since their formation in 2011, Robert Jon & The Wreck – consisting of Robert Jon Burrison (vocals, guitar), Henry James (lead guitar, vocals), Andrew Espantman (drums, vocals), Warren Murrel (bass), and Jake Abernathie (keys) – have built a loyal international fanbase. With tireless touring and songs that tell stories of heartbreak, hope, and redemption, they have earned their place in the roots rock present – and reaffirm it with every release.
Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes was mixed by Greg Gordon, who has previously worked with Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, and Rival Sons. The album will be released on CD, digitally, and in a limited edition on colored vinyl. Additionally, there are exclusive merchandise bundles with a shirt and bandana.
Currently on tour, the band will soon wrap up their summer dates in Europe – with stops in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium – before heading back to the USA. There, they have performances scheduled at the Fargo Blues Festival, Hookrock, the Madison Ribberfest, and a special set at the renowned Telluride Blues & Brews Festival in September.
