Dead Pioneers release their new single "The Caucasity" today from the upcoming album "PO$T AMERICAN", which will be released on April 11 via Hassle Records (Cargo).

About the track, frontman Gregg Deal says: "In the spirit of 'Bad Indian', this song tells the story of a true moment with a shared language and communication from non-native people. While it is tongue-in-cheek, it is also a true reflection on a marginalized person who is asked to justify their actions, if not their entire existence.
Caucasity is a portmanteau of the words Caucasian and Audacity, which originated in activist circles and denotes a particular level of shameless audacity. The term traces back to writer and comedian Joel Martinez, who is professionally known as The Kid Mero. He first used the term in a music review he wrote for Vice in 2012. Kid Mero has been using caucacity on Twitter since 2014.
This piece is the true story of an interaction with a shamelessly audacious white college student, which transforms into a perfect example of the word while simultaneously highlighting the hurdles that professional people of color face regardless of their age, education, or perceived authority. These are everyday occurrences in public spaces, academia, and our lives.”
