Casually zooming through the streets on a skateboard, punk rock in your ears, and standing against everything, we present: ANTILLECTUAL. They are the musical middle finger against the total crap from capitalism to right-wing populism. Not a boring pop seminar about the misery of the world, but energetic, melodic punk rock from the Netherlands.
Not a polished, commercialized 08/15 band, but 100% DIY. Here, they still get their hands dirty, from carrying instruments to handing over the eagerly awaited shirt at the merchandise stand. And yet, they are not grumpy guys, but super friendly dudes. Ben, who reminds you of Van Halen with his acrobatic antics. Then there's Riekus, who fuels this whole spectacle with his driving drumming, and let's not forget Willem, the singer and guitarist, who heats up the audience with solid lyrics and fat riffs.
Given this dynamic, it's no surprise that Antillectual has already shared the stage with scene giants like Propagandhi, BoySetsFire, NOFX, or Bad Religion since their founding in 2005. They are addicted to playing one show after another, all over the world, and have already done so over a thousand times. Their albums are available everywhere, from the record stand in Tijuana to the punk epicenters in the UK to the selected scene treasures of Asia.
