Following the critically acclaimed "Vaxis Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind" from 2022, which gave the band their first Top 10 radio hit with "Shoulders," "Blind Side Sonny" is arguably the most aggressive track from Coheed and Cambria to date and introduces a brand new villain that is part of the band's The Amory Wars/Vaxis universe. Along with the new single, the quartet releases a video directed by Max Moore, featuring the band performing in front of a portion of their massive fanbase while the treacherous Sonny slowly sneaks into the crowd.

Regarding the new single, singer Claudio Sanchez says: "‘Blind Side Sonny’ is a song about revenge. What may seem like an innocent decision to one can be the breeding ground for a malicious misunderstanding for another. Perception can be your worst enemy."
“Blind Side Sonny” follows Coheed and Cambria's North American tour with Incubus, where the band played in legendary venues across the country, including sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City and the Allstate Arena in Chicago, as well as a co-headline tour with the legendary funk-prog masters Primus.
Over the past 20 years, Coheed and Cambria have consistently pushed the boundaries of what a rock band can be, forging their own path and building a universe around their music that is unparalleled. Whether it’s the way their genre-blending approach to songwriting has allowed them to bridge worlds without being confined to one, or the multifaceted narrative arc of their albums and comic book series that mark the longest-running concept story in music, Coheed and Cambria have continually set new standards and never conformed. Claudio Sanchez (vocals/guitar), Travis Stever (guitar), Josh Eppard (drums), and Zach Cooper (bass) have captivated listeners and press around the globe with their visionary compositions and conceptual mastery.
