Many of my friends did not come with me to Salzburg to the Rockhouse on Friday, April 13, 2012. Most feared that Broilers would only play the new songs, and I know some who are not fans of the new material.
But my friends were mistaken. Broilers took off like a rocket. They played through their albums. Everything I wanted to hear, they performed live in Salzburg!
What stuck in my memory: Paul der Hooligan | In 80 Tagen um die Welt | Dein Leben | (Ich bin) bei dir | Alles was ich tat | Zusammen (by Slime including Police & Thieves by The Clash) | Cigarettes & Whiskey | Wie weit wir gehen | Punkrock Lovesong | In ein paar Jahren | Singe, Seufze & Saufe | Verdammte Stille | Nur die Nacht weiß | Harter Weg | Meine Sache | (ich glaub auch) Ruby Light & Dark | Blume | Alles geht weiter | etc. I was especially pleased that they managed to perform LOFI during the encore. I HAD to hear this song live, so my evening was saved! By the way, Lofi played it with a slightly altered melody, but it was by no means bad.
The audience was amazing too! There was wild moshing and loud singing along. The whole hall was in motion. According to the band, they had fun in Salzburg, which wouldn't surprise me; the concert felt like it lasted an eternity, and according to Sammy, he had never pronounced the name of a beer brand as often as at the concert in Salzburg – he enjoyed it...
I only briefly checked out the opening act King Cannons. However, they had a lot of energy and played good rock. I might listen to them a bit more in the future, as they weren't bad at all.
