Metal from Southern Germany, can that work out well? Yes, it can!
This is demonstrated by NAILGUN on their second album "New World Chaos", which strongly reminds me of the first four METALLICA albums "Kill 'em all" to "... and justice for all", when METALLICA still played real metal! NAILGUN even has two good singers, one of whom, Manuel (Blesch), can draw parallels to James Hetfield, while the second, Manuel (Bühler), sings darker and more atmospheric, leaning towards Carl McCoy. The 10 songs, all around 5 minutes long, plus the intro, even resonate well with me, someone who is only moderately into metal. With their direct, groovy metal sound that has the right speed, NAILGUN can also cater to the "normal" crowd, just like METALLICA, from whom they have taken a lot of inspiration without actually copying them.
A bit more power in the sound could still benefit the album, though.
