There are moments when I think I've heard everything, seen everything, and it's starting to get boring. Too much emo, too much post-something.
What has become of good old punk rock?
When I go through my records and think of the great concerts, the wonderful experiences, I sometimes get a bit melancholic.
Life was beautiful, until now. What else is coming?
ERECTION is coming!
The band from Regensburg has been around since 2017, and their second album will be released on May 8, 2026. "Plug it in" is the title of the work, which presents itself in pink and features a power outlet as its main motif.
Of course, plug in the amplifier and then it starts.
Pink because... female-fronted punk rock and because it's a nice color.
The album is bursting with energy. The recording is perfectly done.
The varied 12 songs, sung in both German and English, showcase the full range of the band's abilities. What the band can do is a lot. Sometimes they remind me of Die Mimmis with "Ich will mehr", sometimes they remind me of Kotzreiz with "Kasse", then it goes in the direction of stadium rock with "I don’t wanna die" and continues with good old punch-in-the-face punk rock with "I hate".
The songs are driven by the good interplay and especially by Julia on vocals. She manages to convey every line... what am I saying, every word, absolutely perfectly.
It is a pleasure to listen to these twelve songs... over and over again.
Everything fits perfectly here!
And I managed not to explicitly mention in this review that Vom Ritchie from Die Toten Hosen is drumming for the band. This fact should help the band gain recognition, and rightly so.
