What happens when musicians form a band, then dissolve it, and yet want to make music together again that sounds like the band they dissolved?
Then a new band is formed, with the following name:
THE NO (I can't manage to type the line through the “O” on my keyboard).
With “LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL,” there’s a taste of the album “Unerhort” coming out in March (again with the line over the “O”).
“LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.” A title, a sentence, with so much meaning, especially in these times when wars, environmental disasters, and bad news of all kinds not only ruin our day but also make us doubt the future.
And then there’s this dark, gray, miserable weather.
There’s a reason why ska bands often release their new stuff in autumn and winter, because that’s exactly when you need music that lifts you up.
That’s exactly what THE NO do.
A slow song, with a beautiful, supportive beat, very slow 2-tone, backed by brass, gets into your ears.

Life is beautiful, if you just chill for a bit.
Life is beautiful, despite all the crap.
Yes, it might be a bit naive to say it like that, but hey, if we all become depressed and throw ourselves in front of the next subway, who wins then?
So, let’s pull ourselves together a bit, enjoy life, friends, the beautiful experiences we've had that lift us up again and again.
It’s the many small things in the big life that make life beautiful and also give us the strength to get up every day.
On the B-side of the single, there’s a cover version of “7 Days too long” with a German text that...yes, has a lot to it.
A classic in a new guise, which also shows that ska and German lyrics can work.
It’s not that bad.
