The band HUNNY from Los Angeles presents their new single "89cc" and the accompanying music video, which strikes a captivating balance between playful indie pop and vulnerable emo.

Ahead of their second album Hunny's New Planet Heaven, which will be released on October 6, "89cc" is a gentle mid-tempo rocker with heartfelt songwriting and a driving rhythm, rounded off by a lush saxophone solo.
The music video featuring frontman Jason Yarger is a visual nod to the viral meme that asks the question: "Would you still love me if I were a worm?" A quirky expression of devotion and unconditional love, even when his partner suddenly transforms into an insect on screen, their love remains unbroken.
With their dazzling mix of new wave shine, shoegaze gloom, and edgy guitar rock, underpinned by cheeky Californian coolness, childhood friends HUNNY garnered millions of streams with their self-released EP in 2015, earning them a contract with Epitaph Records. Even after releasing their debut album produced by Carlos De La Garza (Paramore, Best Coast) in 2021, another EP in 2022, and a series of singles, the excitement and energy of those early years can still be felt on Hunny's New Planet Heaven.
The group's second LP for Epitaph shows that they have tightened their social circle and distilled their art into its purest form yet. While the pandemic physically separated the band, they were closer on an artistic level than ever before. They wrote and demoed nearly 100 ideas for LP2, which eventually found their way to their longtime friend and collaborator Derek Ted (from New Planet Heaven Studio, from which the album title is derived).
The upcoming album is a testament to the band's musical prowess and dedication to their craft.
On the brink of their second shared decade, it is clear that HUNNY's greatest asset is their disinterest in doing anything other than what moves them. This has granted them a wide range as a band, the ability to naturally evolve on their own albums, and to captivate audiences across the rock spectrum. Most importantly, it has led them to be completely themselves and to trust in what has brought them this far.

lead singer/guitarist Jason Yarger
