Ithaca are a glittering nail bomb that seamlessly blends the brutality of metalcore from Relapse Records with blackgaze, 90s industrial metal, 70s prog, and even a touch of 80s power pop. Their influences extend far beyond the musical - this album has a clear vision and aesthetic: it draws from the diverse backgrounds of the band members, from queer/non-conforming identities, and from iconic figures of avant-garde, new wave, and post-punk culture.
Their second album They Fear Us is the sound of a band recovering from trauma - with their own unfiltered voice. Angry and wildly inventive, yet also more coherent and accessible, this album introduces Ithaca to a larger audience than they have ever had before. In the words of the band: "Those who oppose us: Your sins will catch up with you. You will fear us".

"Fluorescent' is the song on the album that comes from the deepest source of pain and raw sadness, yet is one of the easiest to listen to. To reflect that, we shot a video that references 70s pop singers who hid their trauma with the softest focus. A big thank you to our guest MC Ed Gamble, who has generously supported this band and what we stand for for years now.
