What will we say when we look back at the year 2023? Hopefully this: It was a year of new beginnings and hope. A year in which we looked ahead and not back. All of this still lies in the future, but hope is the fuel of the future.
The new, now 14th album of the pioneers of medieval rock, set to be released in March, is titled "HIMMELFAHRT". The dystopian lyrics of its predecessor "HEY!" are a thing of the past. The new album marks a turning point. "Himmelfahrt" is both an end and a new beginning. After the oppressive years marked by constraint and stagnation, the new songs are about departure and journey, about reaching out to others to lead them from the deepest depths into the light. Musically, the Potsdam band delivers a damn solid set of hits and great melodies. SVBWAY TO SALLY are vital, as if they came straight from a boot camp. You can feel their thirty years of stage and studio experience in every note and their insatiable hunger for the stage and their audience.
