"The song is about a person who is trapped in a dreary work routine and can't make the leap. Year after year goes by and everything remains the same: the work, the commute there and back home, nothing exciting ever happens. The person feels left behind and interchangeable. Despite the circumstances, however, there remains a final spark of hope to eventually find the courage to leave it all behind, to be free from the pressures of utility, and to find the "right" exit."
