"An at times almost emotional look into the abyss of a relationship, one part of which is leaving towards conspiracy myths. In the background of the chorus, the synth pumps to one of the few clear and absolute statements that can still be made in the postmodern here-and-now: The manifestation of evil is the manifesto of the foolish."
DEBAKEL from Cologne are new and driving, melodic, somewhat wavy, rather dark, and here and there a bit industrial or almost technoid. With synthetic drums that groove quite impressively – and many, really many, special moments in a high-resolution and detailed production. Detailed as well are the observations of people along with lyrical processing of their relationships – and their failures. DEBAKEL consists of Thilo (Illegale Farben, Genepool) and Michi (Knigge + Krust, Koeter, Nein Nein Nein) and here they are making their first mark – more to come!
