Die Toten Hosen released their retrospective "Everything Out of Love: 40 Years of Die Toten Hosen" on 27.05.2022, on the occasion of the band's 40th anniversary, and will then go on a stadium tour.
40 years of Die Toten Hosen: Founded in early 1982 by five friends, who were among others recruited from the scattered remnants of the then underground German punk legend ZK. The predictions from their surroundings for the band's lifespan were: A few months. Today, 40 years later, after countless twists and turns, anthems, hits, failures, and mishaps, Die Toten Hosen are not only one of the longest-lasting and most successful German-speaking bands but also belong to the cultural canon of the Federal Republic of Germany. "We didn't choose this, but someone had to do it," comments Campino, the singer and frontman of the band, which has outlasted three federal chancellors and one federal chancellor, on this remarkable anniversary.
On the occasion of the celebrations for the milestone birthday, Die Toten Hosen are treating themselves not only to a major tour but also to an extensive retrospective, which was released in a lovingly designed quadruple vinyl LP box, double CD, and digitally on 27.05.2022. In addition to the most important tracks from the four decades of their work, Andi, Breiti, Campino, Kuddel, and Vom have not missed the opportunity to record seven brand new pieces together with their long-time producer Vincent Sorg. Furthermore, several already released classics from the band's repertoire have been re-recorded, and others have been brought up to date with a remix.
Die Toten Hosen: "It's a matter of honor that we wanted to give people new music for our milestone birthday and the concert dates we are particularly looking forward to. And since we were already in the studio, we indulged ourselves in the luxury of reworking or updating a few tracks that were dear to us for various reasons. Primarily as a gift to ourselves, but of course, we are also happy if it brings joy to others".
"Everything Out of Love: 40 Years of Die Toten Hosen" is released as a quadruple vinyl box, double CD digipack, and digitally. The compilation contains 43 songs, including seven new pieces, three additional re-recordings, and three remixes of already released classics.
The big birthday parties will start soon.
