"Third World War" was one of the three most searched terms on Google in January 2020, after the USA killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in a drone strike. Under this impression, Shirley Holmes engaged with the song "The Old War", which was written in 1964 by Gerd Semmer, the "father of the German protest song", and Dieter Süverkrüp, and they have translated and arranged it in their own style. The song is featured on their album "The Crown of Exhaustion" (April 24, 2020) and was released as a video single on December 9. For the video, René Lange drew inspiration from artists of Dadaism and created a uniquely illustrated, very atmospheric clip.
