The Lazy Lizzard Gang will release their second album "Erde" on January 22, 2021. The rap crew describes their perspective on humanity's relationship with the Earth from the viewpoint of lizards living in the jungle. Today, the single "Flugblätter" is released in collaboration with Alligatoah.
The Lazy Lizzard Gang is now serious about their mission. Nature is reclaiming its space, and what was once the dandelion breaking through the concrete is now the jungle lizards taking the microphone. Since 2015, the mixed-gender rap collective has sporadically released tracks focusing on sustainability and nature conservation.
Now, the six lizards announce their new album and join forces with another cold-blooded artist, Alligatoah, for "Flugblätter".
A song that transports you from an 80s anti-nuclear movement to the here and now of 2020. In a time when people are clearing forests for highways, coal exits are decided like gambling, and living in harmony with nature is a privilege, flyers are once again being distributed. The Lazy Lizzard Gang, together with Alligatoah, throws flower seeds into the machinery and engages in musical resistance. Resistance against waste and arbitrariness with the aim of supporting and empowering the heightened awareness of people.

Thematically, the Lazy Lizzard Gang operates in the tension between positive, life-affirming content and addressing the looming, man-made catastrophe. After their debut album "Wald", they expand their perspective and present a modern-dreamy sound with "Erde", enriched with elements from the 80s and 90s. It was primarily produced by AsadJohn, who has also worked with Haiyiti and LGoony. 808s and contemporary drum kits are combined with classic synths, dreamy samples, and live instruments played specifically for this project.
Diversity instead of abundance, responsibility instead of power, cycles instead of (one-way) streets. Or as the Lizzards say in the song Erde: "You take everything from the Earth and it suffers, millions of years until it is whole again, be aware of what it holds for you, the insight that you are part of the circle".
