For spring 2021, the gang plans to go on the "Aufbruch Aufbruch" tour.
The world has gone off the rails. One is almost tempted to wish for a normality that has always been rejected. Everything is different, only one thing is clear: There will be a time before and a time after 2020. And in between? In between, Die Antilopen Gang administers the long-overdue compulsory vaccination to humanity starting today with their new album "Adrenochrom". At the same time, the video for "Army Parka", the new single from Die Antilopen Gang, is released. A late summer hit full of shoplifting romance.
Spontaneously created in isolation, "Adrenochrom" is released just half a year after the release of their last Top Ten album "Abbruch Abbruch", which was both the title of the first half of the year and simultaneously prevented and realized it. When all concerts are canceled, the beloved and hated Die Antilopen Gang returns with a full-fledged, brand-new album from lockdown that offers enough material to be loved and hated in the second half of the year.
The Antilopen are HipHop's problem children and have drained their "Adrenochrom" in a cruel ritual. It causes a pleasant, addictive high. But as times are tough, the music of Die Antilopen Gang becomes light. Where soul singers cry out of despair, the Antilopen go to the basement and laugh themselves to pieces. It is a healing laughter over the all-pervasive madness that has boiled over with Corona. However, instead of getting too lost in the supposedly big themes of this time, the gang on "Adrenochrom" keeps it casual and intuitively dedicates itself to the good old battle rap, the life-sustaining banter.
Even the - according to their own description - most important rap crew in Europe has been hit hard by the measures to contain the pandemic, but others should sing a song about that. Instead, the new Antilopen album offers shoplifting romance and the homage to their own imagined wealth, which also provides the soundtrack for the last summer before the recession. The gang states: "When you, like us, have accidentally predicted the future multiple times with your work, you think very carefully about what you say. The core thesis of the album is therefore particularly that we are happy, successful, rich, and all other rappers are idiots. The latter is a fact, the former is regulated by Adrenochrom for us."
"Adrenochrom" consists of twelve songs - produced by Ghanaian Stallion, Shuko, Faluti, Fonty, Yourz, Tombs Beats, Provo, C.O.W., and the gang itself - as well as two skits with some feedback from Antilopen critics. Released for the first time on the band's own label "Antilopen Geldwäsche" and only digitally, the Antilopen arrogantly forgo any frills, packaging, and promotional phase. They note: "We wrote the album on the internet and now we are giving it back to the internet. The internet has helped us through this difficult time, we owe it to him." It goes with drums, trumpets, and an overdose of Adrenochrom into the new reality.
