One thing is undisputed: the musicians of Samavayo and The
Grand Astoria can definitely rock. Both the Berlin trio and
the Russian band led by mastermind Kamille Sharapodinov prove this time and again at
their sweat-inducing shows. The friendly musicians were already on tour together in 2013. Now, it's happening again in March.
Samavayo – Stoner Rock that moves forward
At the forefront are the riff, the beat, and the fuzz, raw and edgy
songs with excellent energetic arcs of tension, relentless,
unequivocal, energetic, and direct. Since their founding,
Samavayo has released four LPs and countless EPs. Regularly,
Samavayo can be found in the tour bus or on a plane playing concerts in Europe and overseas.
The style of Samavayo is best described as a mix
of modern rock with progressive elements like Tool and the old
school wall of sound like Black Sabbath or Kyuss.
The Grand Astoria – Diversity and Complexity
THE GRAND ASTORIA can be categorized somewhere in the 70s heavy genre or
psychedelic rock. Comparisons with Black Sabbath and King
Crimson and various progressive bands are frequently made,
but this does not truly do justice to the diversity and complexity of their sound and songs. The Grand Astoria speaks its own language
and has a release output like no other band in
Europe.
