Nils Wülker releases eighth album "Up" with many guest stars
The successful trumpeter Nils Wülker is releasing his debut album with Warner Music Germany featuring Max Mutzke, Xavier Naidoo, Sasha, Jill Scott, and others.
The ECHO Jazz award-winning trumpeter and songwriter Nils Wülker will release his new album "Up" on February 27, 2015.
This is the eighth album of the 37-year-old resident of Hamburg and his debut for Warner Music Germany. The thirteen songs, written and produced by Wülker himself in collaboration with, among others, Peter Vettese (Pet Shop Boys, Jethro Tull, etc.), Craig Armstrong (Massive Attack), and Mocky (Feist), also feature a number of national and international vocal stars, such as Max Mutzke, Xavier Naidoo, Sasha, Jill Scott, and others.

"Until now, I have always maintained my lone wolf nature – as a composer, bandleader, and label maker,” says Nils Wülker. "Now I have switched everything to a team approach, from management to musicians, various co-authors and co-producers, to the new label. Ideally, two people come up with ideas that one wouldn’t think of alone – and continue the journey together instead of questioning each other.” The result is a beautiful and very versatile album. The tension spans from passionate ballads to anthemic songs to cinematic moods and powerful grooves.
From April 2015, Nils Wülker will be on tour in Germany with his band, presenting the music of "Up“ live.
