The German-American crossover band HEADCRASH will reunite for a concert on March 8, 2014, in Pirmasens, Germany. At this concert, singers Allen Wright and Shane Cooper, along with guitarist Herv Meyzsner, will share the stage together for the first time since 1999. They will be joined by bassist Justin Stone, formerly of SENSER, drummer Andreas Lill from the German prog metal band VANDEN PLAS, and guitarist from the underground hip-hop crew PEACE OFFICER.
HEADCRASH gained significant recognition in the mid-90s after the release of their album DIRECTION OF CORRECTNESS (1994), which featured two of their biggest tracks, Freedom and Scapegoat.
Alongside bands like Rage Against The Machine, Downset, and Thumb, HEADCRASH took crossover to a new level with a mix of hardcore/rap vocals, rock, metal, and electronic beats. Thematically, their music often addressed social and political issues as well as personal struggles.
During their active years, HEADCRASH released four albums, including their critically acclaimed third album LIFEBOAT. The songs Asphalt Ostrich and Snake In The Grass made it into the Top 100 of the German album charts at that time. HEADCRASH's live shows have always been packed with energy and could hold their own alongside big names like Korn, Boo Yaa Tribe, and H-Blockx. It’s no surprise that the band was voted "Germany's Best Live Band" by the readers of Visions magazine in 1998. HEADCRASH performed at the largest German festivals such as Rock am Ring/Rock Im Park, Strange Noise Festival, and the Bizarre Festival.
HEADCRASH officially disbanded in 1999, later reformed, and released their last album CRANIUM in 2006 through Rookie Records.
