Cliff Richard releases his 100th album with "The Fabulous Rock 'n' Roll Songbook"!
"This is my tribute to all the artists who brought Rock’n’Roll to the top of the charts. I loved Rock’n’Roll back then and I still love it today!”
Cliff Richard
With a career spanning 55 years, during which he has spent over 20 years in the charts and sold 250 million records, CLIFF RICHARD is Britain’s number 1 pop star! As one of the first Rock’n’Roll stars from the British Isles, no one is better suited to bring Rock’n’Roll back to the people. The legendary superstar's 100th album, The Fabulous Rock’n’Roll Songbook, will shine from November 8 with 14 great classics by Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, and Buddy Holly, who have inspired CLIFF RICHARD throughout his career. The album was recorded live at Blackbird Studios and The Parlor in Nashville, Tennessee, and is his personal tribute to the heroes of Rock’n’Roll, which he will bring to the grand halls of Germany in May 2014 (see below)!
CLIFF RICHARD presents refreshing versions of his personal favorites on The Fabulous Rock’n’Roll Songbook, including Teddy Bear (Elvis Presley), Rave On (Buddy Holly), Johnny B. Goode (Chuck Berry), Rip It Up (Little Richard), and Dream Lover (Bobby Darin). Additionally, there is a brand new song titled One More Sunny Day. The first single from the album is Rip It Up – CLIFF RICHARD's 140th single! The album was produced by Steve Mandle.
CLIFF RICHARD himself says about the recordings: "It was like back in the days with The Shadows in Studio 2 at Abbey Road in the fifties – only it wasn’t The Shadows, it wasn’t the Abbey Road Studios, and it wasn’t the fifties. It was in Nashville, Tennessee, at Blackbird Studios with five fantastic Nashville musicians, and we played... LIVE!”

CLIFF RICHARD: "This is my chance not only to pay tribute to one of the greatest achievements in music history (in my humble opinion) but also to the artists who brought Rock’n’Roll to the top of the charts. Like all major art forms, Rock’n’Roll has never stagnated but has gone through some phenomenal developments that have brought it to where we are now. All I know is that The Fabulous Rock And Roll Songbook kicked the whole thing off. The whole era was new and incredibly exciting. When I think about the fact that I was there! I saved my pocket money for weeks to buy Elvis's first album, borrowed a whole collection of Little Richard (to whom I dedicated part of my name), and skipped school to see Bill Haley play live!”
Next year, the Godfather of British Rock’n’Roll will be seen live in Germany. On his Still Reelin‘ and A-Rockin‘ tour, he will visit five major cities in Germany to revive Rock’n’Roll with full energy:
13.05.2014, Hamburg - O2 World
14.05.2014, Berlin - O2 World
16.05.2014, Oberhausen - KöPi Arena
20.05.2014, Munich - Olympiahalle
