Some band names of punk bands may sometimes sound like they have sprung from the brains of overly rebellious teenagers. But what happens when the awkward teenage years are over, yet the name still reflects that long-past time? One way would be to simply dissolve. However, the joy of playing is still present with Generation Fuck, so they are now simply renaming themselves. From now on, they will be known by the not-so-catchy name 20/20 Vision in Germany. Otherwise, nothing will change; they are already working on a new album with their familiar sound.
They also want to tour diligently again this year, but so far, no dates have been announced except for April 8 in Grebenstein (near Kassel) at the Rock gegen Regen festival. As soon as these are confirmed, they will be published on the band's homepage. It can still be reached at http://www.generationfuck.de, but this will likely change in the foreseeable future.
A few words of explanation about the term 20/20 Vision. In the USA, this is a very common term. It refers to the range that a person should normally be able to see when looking at a chart for a vision test from 20 feet (about 6 meters) away. A person with poor vision might have 20/40 vision, for example. This means they see at 20 feet what a person with normal vision can still recognize at 40 feet. Conversely, this also applies to people with better vision, such as a ratio of 20/10. A test for this can be found, for example, at perret-optic.ch.
