Since their First Album from 1971, ZZ TOP have been icons of rock music. Not only because of their extravagant beards, which became their trademark, but especially due to their pure Texan humor and the combination of powerful blues riffs and skillfully used synthesizers. Today, over 30 years later and after millions of albums sold, ZZ TOP are one of the few classic rock bands that have survived the decades in their original lineup: Billy Gibbons (Vocals), Dusty Hill (Bass), and Frank Beard (Drums) continue to rock like never before.
With ZZ Top – The Studio Albums 1970-1990, a 10-CD box set is available that truly packs a punch, featuring all ten album classics from the Warner Bros. years. The elaborate box set comes in a sturdy clamshell packaging, with each album housed in a cardboard sleeve that matches the artwork of the respective original vinyl cover. Even Tre Hombres and Tejas are included in a mini-gatefold that replicates the original.
Additionally, it is spectacular that for the first time, the original audio tape versions of three of the albums are available on CD, namely First Album, Rio Grande Mud, and Tejas. The original masters of Tres Hombres and Fandango are also included in the box!
The CD mixes released in the mid-eighties sparked many discussions about the quality of the mixes – now the original audio versions are available once and for all in this overwhelming box!
