RANTANPLAN – NEW ALBUM ON 26.04.2013 / NEW VIDEO CLIP / TOUR DATES

In the last 5 years, things have become quieter around RANTANPLAN. Although they recently celebrated their 666th concert in their hometown Hamburg at the packed Molotow, and two albums, HALT´S MAUL - MACH MUSIK and UNLEASHED, were released in the meantime on Tapete Records, these were ultimately “only” a recorded live concert and a collection of sampler contributions, as well as 7-inch singles and shows. So, nothing new.

The last regular studio album was therefore the 20359, created in New York under the direction of producer legend Don Fury.

Now, the spearhead of the German ska-punk movement is back, and they have forged the steel blade with the heavy metal hammer extremely sharp.

This time, they simply stayed in Hamburg and locked themselves in the family-owned Tao Studios with ex-drummer Benno Oppermann as producer to record the high-flyer PAULI in close proximity to the airport. The legendary 8th album will be released on 26.04.13 via Hamburg Allstyles / Membran/Sony.

But that's not all; the Hamburg band will embark on a small but all the more refined tour of Germany shortly after the album's release, which will be followed by numerous festivals and shows throughout the year.

The songs from PAULI in detail, an attempt at description.

They skank against the gentrification of their neighborhood St. Pauli in NATURAL BORN ALTONA. The singer himself recently fell victim to the urban modernization madness of glass.

WIR SIND NICHT DIE ONKELZ - An ode to over three dozen punk bands.

DEUTSCHLAND DU OPFER GIB HANDY. - Arrogant subversion as proof of humor.

WILLENSWEG. Existentialist life pragmatics of a city punk.

ERDE ZUTEER´N. Post-adolescent cynicism accompanying state

modernization pragmatics.

DIE CHUCK NORRIS GARANTIE. Concrete jungle anxieties in killer-style

disco-punk attire. Beware of the zeitgeist.

In a “or maybe not,” the consequences would then probably be ONKEL OTTO´S

HAMBURGER FENSTERSTURZ. - Everything else is LUXUSJAMMERN. A quick bite to the throat of the self-pitying indie softie.

If all of this is too highbrow, one can let oneself be executed with indie on the PONYHOF GNADENSCHUSS, only to be resurrected as a drunken corpse in FASS DIE UHR NICHT AN.

A single pop gem is also found in the shell at the bottom of the harbor basin: SCHLEPPER.

The track reminds us that behind all the madness, there are indeed real musicians who, for once, are not shouting at us..
