"English Electric" comes three years after "History of Modern" (2010) and is the twelfth album of the band. The name comes from a British industrial company and perfectly encapsulates OMD's identity; and for railway enthusiasts and self-proclaimed tech fans Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, it holds even more significance. In the 80s, OMD released bold albums alongside bands like Human League, Depeche Mode, and Gary Numan, always in search of the sounds of the future, during a time marked by rapid technological change and the swift approach of a new century. Arrived in the future they had tried to imagine, "English Electric" reflects on how differently the world has actually developed...
The new OMD album "English Electric" will be released on April 5, 2013.
