Finally: THE 2012 REVIVAL TOUR IS COMING TO GERMANY, AUSTRIA, and SWITZERLAND in October
featuring: Chuck Ragan, Rocky Votolato, Bedouin Soundclash frontman Jay Malinowski, Cory Branan, Emily Barker, Jon Gaunt, Joe Ginsberg
After the sold-out debut of the Revival Tour across Europe last year, a new edition of this unique grassroots concert concept will take place in October 2012. Hot Water Music frontman Chuck Ragan, who will present his still current album "Covering Ground" on the tour, has once again succeeded in bringing together an incomparable lineup of singer/songwriters and other outstanding musicians on one stage:
The Texan singer/songwriter Rocky Votolato has built a loyal fanbase worldwide thanks to genre-defining albums like “Suicide Medicine” or the current work “Television Of Saints.” Jay Malinowski (charismatic frontman of the Canadian reggae-rock icons Bedouin Soundclash) impresses with his solo material as a stylish storyteller in the tradition of Joe Strummer and Billy Bragg. With the label of "insider tip," Cory Branan joins the Revival Tour and will be able to win many new friends with his beautifully sad, Springsteen-influenced worker anthems. The spectacular lineup is rounded out not only by Australian chamber-folk singer Emily Barker (from The Red Clay Halo) but also by Chuck Ragan's longtime accompanying musicians Joe Ginsberg on double bass and Jon Gaunt on violin.
Since the beginnings of the Revival Tour in 2008, this unusual collaboration of various musicians from different genres has made every concert an unforgettable evening. The concept is as brilliant as it is simple: the static opener-headliner principle is abolished, creating space for experimental coming and going on stage: sometimes solo acoustic, sometimes accompanied by double bass and violin, sometimes a collaboration of all participating musicians and spontaneous, unique jam sessions. The surrounding atmosphere also ensures an incomparable evening - the tour will take place in many places in small, atmospheric concert venues.
Since founder Chuck Ragan first held the Revival Tour in the USA in 2008, artists such as Frank Turner, Brian Fallon (The Gaslight Anthem), Laura Jane Grace (Against Me!), Dave Hause (The Loved Ones), Jim Ward (Sparta), Kevin Seconds (7 Seconds), Tim Barry (Avail), or Ben Nichols (Lucero) have been part of the lineup. In 2011, the tour made its way to Europe for the first time and sold out numerous venues in no time.
In 2012, the Revival Tour will be seen at nine dates in the German-speaking region:
