HELLO PIEDPIPER: Debut album "Birdsongs = Warsounds" will be released on Uncle
M Music (distribution: Cargo Records)
- CD release party at the Cologne hostel Weltempfänger on March 23
- Germany tour with Stefan Honig in March
The Cologne singer-songwriter Hello Piedpiper enriches the roster of the young record label Uncle M (Chuck Ragan, Waterdown) with his debut album "Birdsongs = Warsounds", which will be released on March 23, 2012. The CD will be distributed by Cargo Records.
Playfully, the album blends influences from folk, indie, singer-songwriter, and country. What makes Hello Piedpiper unique is the loving song arrangement, which, alongside his unmistakable voice, impresses with various musical nuances such as finely chosen backing vocals, subtle melodica or blues harp arrangements, whistling, or his distinctive fingerpicking.
All these characteristics create a distinctive character reminiscent of Kings Of Convenience, Paul Simon, or Ferraby Lionheart. Hello Piedpiper's musical gems entice the listener to switch off and lean back while still bringing down walls. They represent honest songwriting and unadorned, atmospheric beauty that has rarely been seen in this form.
