My Terror from Düsseldorf is dissolving

The Düsseldorf local heroes have officially announced that they will be going their separate ways musically in the future. This, of course, does not sit well with the Düsseldorf fanbase.
Here is the official statement from the band My Terror:

Schröd(A) on leaving the band:

"I write this very personally, as a statement.
For I am convinced that I owe it to many people, the movement, and the scene to explain my departure from the band, to present my knowledge and perspective on MyTerror in the hope of being understood. As reflectively and objectively as possible. Primarily from my perspective, of course.
I hope I will succeed with the following lines…

My existence in the band, which immensely accelerated my affiliation with the autonomous (anarchist, antifascist, DIY, less hardcore) scene, has long become inseparable from me and my life.
Since the turn of the millennium, I have been firmly anchored in the Düsseldorf alternative (music) scene around "Family Ties" (the environment of bands like Cho-Jin, Fidget, Pipelineclub, Straight, and CDC), where fun and passion kept most together, I was catapulted into band life in 2005.
A leap into the unknown, where I had to and wanted to acquire even the most banal basics, know-how, and language from scratch.
Happily situated, writing and "performing" the song lyrics alone, united with a sense of justice and freedom shaped since childhood, with partly ambitious drive, it was only a matter of time until acquired education, enlightenment, and insight merged with direct action of anarchism, antifascism, and partly reason in the subcultural environment, causing profound changes in my life and my existence in the band.
This inevitably led to certain standards in my perception and band-related activity.
But primarily, and I want to emphasize this, it was MY standards that often led to tensions in the band, even though since then MyTerror consisted only of me and Schmiddi, we openly laid out who we are, what we want, and what goals we have in the band to anyone who wanted to be in the band.

The subcultural environment, which, at least the core, is shaped with passion and dedication by like-minded individuals and where most gigs took place, allowed MyTerror to significantly gain numerous (solidarity) performances, certain recognition, and success. I count among this the win of "City Beats" in 2009 in Düsseldorf, debut album "Take Your Life Back", together with friends (including from the band What We Feel and the antifascist movement in Russia) we organized the Russia tour and the "Solution" split EP from 2011.
And: the band, the will, and the essence of the last years allowed me to plan and organize the overwhelming "Separated" Europe tour in March-April 2011.
Spectacular, unforgettable.
DIY

The facts are: since the end of the tour, there has been hardly any contact within the band, rehearsals are not taking place, planning gigs, etc. has become almost impossible, confirmations for concert requests dragged on into the banal, into infinite lengths, several long-confirmed concerts and festivals were partly canceled on the same (!) or the day before, the Russia tour fell through, etc.
The trigger, the impetus for one of the most difficult decisions of my life was the cancellation of the Counter Culture Festival in Switzerland on September 2, 2011.
In light of the responsibility to the organizer, the fans, and the scene, it was a shock and quite a realization for me.

I remained and remain consistent.

For all of this means for me above all one thing: stagnation.
Standstill is death…
Stagnation is fucking death!

One should stop when it is at its best…-Bullshit.
I leave the band at the peak of possibilities…-Fact.

No closing words, but my opinion and conclusions from the last 6 years:
The social revolution and hardcore are inseparable. The latter arose from the conviction and activity of the eccentric few who wanted more, who wanted to move forward. No protest. Resistance. Direct Action!
Therefore, I mean this very seriously, if hardcore had a task, it would be to create such circumstances that make hardcore itself unnecessary. Self-destructive, neutralizing.
Well, such circumstances have unfortunately not occurred.
Therefore, I look optimistically to the future and will remain loyal to the active scene. Also in the spirit of hardcore and DIY.
We will see each other again!

Schröda, November 2011."

p.s.: there are still two gigs in Kiel and Greifswald on December 2nd and 3rd… In the hope that we can make it…
