The Italian prog hopefuls 81DB have a stylish music video out. The band combines breathtaking riffs and song structures with alternative rock melodies and Eastern European sounds. They are progressive in the truest sense of the word, yet always provide their compositions with the necessary red thread. As a result, the Italians have already won a diverse fan base: they had the opportunity to open for Deep Purple and caught the attention of Sylvia Massy (producer of Tool, System Of A Down, and Johnny Cash, among others). The lady recognized the rough diamond she had in front of her and insisted on producing the second album. "Impressions" is widescreen alternative prog for connoisseurs and a gigantic step for a group that has already left behind all sorts of boxes and clichés in great strides.
