KoЯn's tenth studio album "The Path of Totality" will be released on December 2. However, you can expect nothing typical from a KoЯn record. In fact, you can expect nothing that you already know in this form. "The Path of Totality" is a very experimental album, where KoЯn shifts gears and enters new territory. For diehard KoЯn fans, this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, as the band has been constantly evolving (along with the entire rock scene) since their first major successes in the 90s.
For "The Path of Totality," KoЯn collaborated with some of the leading dubstep and electronic producers such as Skrillex, Excision, Datsik, Noisia, Kill the Noise, and 12th Planet. What has emerged is something completely new, yet it undeniably bears the stamp of KoЯn. Even after a two-decade-long career, they still manage to reinvent themselves.
The current, highly praised single "Get Up!" is a collaboration with one of the hottest dubstep producers, Skrillex, and was an absolute surprise hit this summer. This hype began at this year's Coachella Festival, where Jonathan and Munky took the stage with Skrillex in the dance tent and performed the song there - unannounced.
"Narcissistic Cannibal," "Burn The Obedient," "Illuminati," "Kill Mercy Within," and "Chaos Lives In Everything" are just a few of the songs that will be on the tracklist. The album will be released in two versions: a standard CD with 11 songs and a special edition including bonus tracks as well as the bonus DVD "The Encounter." This features the unforgettable KoЯn concert in a crop circle in the middle of a wheat field in Bakersfield, USA. Until now, the show has only been available in a shortened form on television and online, but buyers of the special edition will now get it in its complete length.
