Multi-media book presentation:
Author Hilmar Bender reads aloud: the essence of nearly 30 years of band history of the thrash metal icon KREATOR. For the audience, there is plenty of bonus material included: unpublished photos, ridiculous original comments, and TV documentaries rotting in the dust of the archives.
In mid-March, the biography about the Essen thrash metal band Kreator will be released. After more than 25 years, fans can look forward to "Violent Evolution – The Story of Kreator," which was written by Hilmar Bender. Hilmar Bender has also written the Tomte biography "Die Schönheit der Chance." The book covers stories from three decades of Kreator, data, facts, and backgrounds. The band's environment was also involved in the book research; former members, friends, and the current band lineup paint a picture of the band that no one could have imagined. Uncompromising hardness defines life in the northern part of Essen. In the shadow of the Emscherschnellweg, a few young people drag the rawness of everyday life into their rehearsal room. They let their hair grow and form a band. Faster than they can look, Kreator get a record deal. After just a handful of gigs, they already have an extensive tour of America ahead of them. At this point, they are still not twenty. God willing, they will not have to take on the legacy of their fathers who toiled underground. With groundbreaking albums, Kreator establish a steely reputation. They excite their fans worldwide with extensive tours until no one cares about metal anymore and the band lies exhausted. But Kreator would not be Kreator if they did not regain strength with clever moves. After more than 25 years, they once again become the top act of thrash metal. This is the story of a development in which violence and aggression are both driving forces and expressions. All relevant protagonists share their stories from the past.
