Because they threw a hotdog at him during a baseball game and filmed the scene, Michael Sudore has sued the Canadian punk band Sum 41. The owner of a small company is demanding a compensation of six million US dollars (4.91 million euros), according to an online report by New Musical Express.
The plaintiff claims he was filmed without his permission. The scene was featured on the Sum 41 DVD "Does This Look Infected?" released in 2002. A customer had pointed this out to Sudore. He now claims that his business has suffered as a result, and that the incident has traumatized him.
Sudore's lawyer stated that his client's reputation is in tatters. With every single DVD sold, his pain increases. He was deliberately chosen and humiliated because of his distinctive appearance, the lawyer speculated. There has been no statement from Sum 41 so far.
