MASSENDEFEKT - New Album & New Single & Anniversary Tour!

With "Brandung," MASSENDEFEKT releases today the second single from their upcoming studio album "MASSENDEFEKT," which will be released on September 11. At the same time, the official album pre-sale begins. The song is dedicated to a person who is always there when it matters – confident, steadfast, and irreplaceable. Between gratitude, solidarity, and inner strength, an emotional song emerges that, despite its direct language, never feels cheesy. Musically, "Brandung" combines the raw energy of the band with one of the catchiest hooklines of the new album and simultaneously shows how multifaceted MASSENDEFEKT will sound in 2026.

With the self-titled album "MASSENDEFEKT," the band not only celebrates its 25th anniversary but also releases its tenth studio album. The fact that the record bears the same name as the band is a clear statement and expression of what MASSENDEFEKT represents today after 25 years. Mostly created independently, the album sounds closer to the band than it has in a long time.

‘Brandung’ is for us a song about people who are simply there when everything around you starts to wobble. Not loud, not perfect – but right there when you need them.” – Massendefekt

2026 is all about a special anniversary for Massendefekt: The band celebrates its 25th anniversary – and is hitting the road with its own anniversary tour. Under the title “25 LIVE,” the band will play eleven selected shows across Germany starting in October. Massendefekt not only looks back on a quarter-century of band history but also presents itself as energetic as rarely before. The “25 LIVE” tour brings together songs from all phases and showcases exactly what Massendefekt has been known for live for years: clear edges, direct contact with the audience, and evenings that are musically and atmospherically on point. An exclusive tour support will be announced later.
A special highlight will be the closing concert on December 12, 2026, at the Düsseldorf Stahlwerk. There, not only does the anniversary tour “25 LIVE” come to an end – the band will also celebrate the 15th anniversary of their successful double album “Tangodiesel” that evening. Two milestones in one night that reflect the band’s history from the early years to today and create an extraordinary finale for long-time and new fans alike.
