Do you know that feeling? Everyone else seems to master their lives effortlessly while fear holds you back at every step? SHIRLEY HOLMES not only captures this feeling in their new single “Angst & Hobbys” – they transform it into an exhilarating, empowering soundtrack.
The Berlin band once again proves their knack for lyrics that hit straight to the heart. The line “Others have hobbies, I have fear” strikes a chord – and is likely to resonate with many people from the battered soul. The band itself says: “A line like ‘Others have hobbies, I have fear’ aims to counter this sometimes very overwhelming feeling with a bit of lightness in the form of humor or self-irony. It might help one or the other a little in the current general mood...”
With their new single, SHIRLEY HOLMES not only delivers an earworm but also a musical manifesto for all who find themselves in this ambivalence. A song that is both a hug and a liberation – and once again proves why this band is much more than just an insider tip.
