After the alternative rock band CHIEFLAND recently announced their new EP "Sentiment Valley" set for release on November 8 with the single "Blame," they now follow up with "Bad Move," another precursor in the form of a modern emo-rock track that dives deep into the darkness of loss and longing.

"Bad Move" combines moving vocals, a disturbing tension in the guitar riffs, and pulsating drums into an endless cycle of pain and hope. "It's a song about loss. That feeling that eats you up and won't let go. You long for what once was – and thus for the impossible. Because that state will never return," describes singer Christopher Hiller the content.
For "Bad Move," CHIEFLAND invited Christine Goodwyne from the US band POOL KIDS. Some may know the math-rock-emo powerhouse from Florida, as the band last played here as support for LA DISPUTE. This is how CHIEFLAND got to know the quartet: "We saw them live in Hamburg and were totally impressed by the energy of the band," reflects bassist Lucas on the concert visit. "We were even more thrilled when Christine agreed to feature on the track."
For the production of the new material, CHIEFLAND brought Alan Day (FOUR YEAR STRONG) on board. In November, the quartet will also be on tour.

About CHIEFLAND
With two albums and three released EPs so far, CHIEFLAND is one of the flagship bands of the German emo and alternative scene. All members of the band, founded in 2015, come from different cities: Leipzig, Hamburg, Halle, and Göttingen – some more than four hours apart. This distance makes CHIEFLAND an exciting project that proves: a band can work even from afar. The tour with ACRES (UK) through Europe in autumn 2023 showed that CHIEFLAND is successfully forging their path despite the distance.
Since the pandemic and some member changes, CHIEFLAND has gradually moved away from the melodic hardcore of their debut "Wildflowers" (2019) and found a new niche in the mix of emo, alternative, and post-hardcore. The shoegaze influence is also unmistakable in some of their more recent songs. Considering the songwriting and production, the quartet could easily pass for a US band.
CHIEFLAND has played around 150 shows so far, some of them as support for BEING AS AN OCEAN, ACRES, or HOLDING ABSENCE. The largest show to date was performed in front of 800 attendees at "Das Fest" in Karlsruhe.
