The first single "Opfer!" from the GYFTH album "Muss Los", which will be released on August 9, gives a first glimpse into the innovative songwriting that the band implements on the upcoming album. Stylistically, refreshing differences can be noticed on both musical and lyrical levels compared to the debut EP. The song addresses personal turmoil in making the right decisions under social pressure - with the knowledge that a wrong decision comes with serious consequences.
Exactly 2 years after the release of the debut EP "Aus Allen Wolken", GYFTH from Vienna and Linz are releasing their first album "Muss Los" into the world. Recorded at Doom Studios/Linz and mixed by Norbert Leitner in Vienna, this album presents a sound that approaches the hornet's nest even more than its shorter predecessor. More refined sound, more stylistic elements, a world-weariness attitude, a lot of winking but also brutally honest at the same time.
The band does not hold back when the classic Post-Hardcore darkness shamelessly beds itself again and again with today's pop culture. Inspired by experienced everyday stories, fears, feelings, and indifference.
The quintet, founded in the winter of 21/22, consisting of (former) members of Implore, Amer, Verrat, Discure, and Six-Score, aims to achieve exactly that: to break out of the usual genre bubble and serve a mix that has never existed and will always exist now.
